Abstract: |
In the world of high-pressure diesel fuel injection systems, it is important to precisely control the quantity of fuel to be injected. This is mandated for performance and emissions benefits.
Any injector contains part to part tolerances that result in slight changes to its fuel delivery calibration. This design uses a rejustor embedded in each injector to communicate to the Engine Control Unit a unique calibration for that injector. This calibration is programmed at end of production test, by adjusting the rejustor value. In addition, if the injector is serviced and repaired, a new calibration can be “stored” in the injector.
