Title:   Rejustor-based Firmware Selection
Abstract:   This document suggests the use of rejustors to provide factory preconfigurable and reconfigurable firmware settings. As microcontroller memory size has become more cost effective it has become possible to support more than one firmware set with the same board design. The problem then becomes how best to select the firmware mode. Typically this has been by means of jumpers. Jumpers and their associated pins are not cheap. For thousands of boards, soldered down resistors work fine, but they are not reconfigurable. This document suggests using rejustors in place of jumpers and also suggests using the rejustor in voltage divider mode for an ADC input to qualify and utilize for firmware selection.
