Title: |
Using an existing inductor as current sensor |
|
Abstract: |
The voltage across an inductor is the vector sum of the voltage drops across its ohmic and inductive portion. The voltage across the ohmic portion represents the current, but is hidden inside. An external RC circuit could be connected across the unductor - as to recreate the hidden point: RC=Li/Ri , where Ri, Li are the inductor resistance and inductance
Clearly the part to part variation in Li/Ri would result in phase error; the Ri variation in Gain error. Adjustor as R in the RC circuit would trim the phase error.
Another rejustor in the scaling amplifier would trim the gain error. |
